McNeilly Wood Products, Inc. was founded in 1947 by Patrick J. McNeilly in Newark, NJ as a specialty wood box manufacturer. As the demand for wood boxes decreased in the 1950's, and the forklift truck came into it's own, wood pallets emerged as a reliable low cost-shipping platform for industry. McNeilly Wood Products, Inc. followed the trend and is today considered the leader in state of the art pallet production in the Metro New York region. Incorporated in 1981 and taken over by his two sons Patrick F. and John T. McNeilly, McNeilly Wood Products Inc. is today managed by Tim and Dan McNeilly, grandsons of the founder. With a full time staff of over forty-five pallet professionals, using state of the art equipment, we produce over four thousand new and reconditioned pallets per day. New pallets are assembled using Viking high-speed nailers for standard pallets at a rate of 1,900 pallets per eight-hour shift. Specialty pallets are assembled using pneumatic hand nailers. Lumber for the new pallet manufacturing is cut on our own Brewer Re-Saws. Specialty four way notching and chamfering are also produced on high speed Brewer equipment manufactured specifically for the pallet industry. Reconditioned pallets are processed in our newly constructed pallet sorting and repair building. Incoming pallets are sorted by size, repairability, and quality. Pallets for repair are placed at multiple repair stations, repaired, and then quality control checked. McNeilly Wood Products, Inc. handles over 1.5 million incoming pallets per year. Re-Manufactured pallets are produced using dis-mantled parts from previously used pallets. Pallets are dismantled then cut to customer specific sizes for re-use. These pallets can be produced using both new and used lumber components. In 1998 McNeilly Wood Products, Inc. entered the wholesale mulch business as a way to eliminate wood waste generated by our facility. Old pallets and trimmings from our sawmill process are ground into wood chips. The wood chips are then colorized and shipped to landscape centers in the Metro area. McNeilly Wood Products, Inc. runs it's own fleet of tractor-trailers. We specialize in trailer drops for pallet removal from distribution centers. Orders can be customized between both new and reconditioned pallets. McNeilly Wood Products, Inc. is a member of the National Wooden Pallet and Container Association. Consulting on "closed loop" and "open loop" pallets systems is available, as well as pallet design consulting for new products.
